File Formats

Supported File Formats

We accept all major 3D formats. For best results, use STL, STEP, or 3MF.

.STLRecommended

Stereolithography

The most universal 3D printing format. Tessellated mesh with no color or material data.

.STEPRecommended

Standard for Exchange of Product Data

CAD-native format preserving geometry, tolerances, and assembly structure. Preferred for engineering parts.

.3MFRecommended

3D Manufacturing Format

Modern format with color, material, and print settings embedded. Ideal for multi-material projects.

.OBJ

Wavefront OBJ

Common format with optional color/texture data. Widely supported across CAD and 3D tools.

.IGES

Initial Graphics Exchange Specification

Legacy CAD exchange format. Functional for most geometry but less precise than STEP.

.AMF

Additive Manufacturing File Format

XML-based format designed for 3D printing with support for color and materials.

File Preparation Tips

  • 1Export at maximum tessellation resolution to preserve curved surfaces.
  • 2Check for watertight geometry (no holes or inverted normals) before uploading.
  • 3Keep wall thickness ≥ 1mm to ensure printability.
  • 4Use STEP format for machined or precise engineering parts.
  • 5For assemblies, upload individual components or a STEP assembly file.
  • 6Max file size: 100MB per file. Contact us for larger uploads.
